PAOLA CROSA DI VERGAGNI
FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL
Paola Crosa di Vergagni is an Italian architect and interior designer whose work embraces architecture, interior design, furniture design and art curation. With over two decades of international experience, she leads a portfolio of projects across London, New York and Italy, from townhouse restorations to the transformation of historic estates, landmark hotels and residential developments.
At the heart of her practice lies a distinct aesthetic: a refined balance between heritage and modern vision, where timeless elegance meets contemporary design. With a deep understanding of architecture and traditional construction methods, Paola brings clarity and sophistication to every layer of a project, from the architecture itself to its furnishings, artworks and final details.
Every commission is approached with precision, sensitivity and vision. Paola personally guides each client through the design journey, overseeing every detail from concept to completion.
FOUNDER’S STORY
After graduating in Architecture from the University of Florence, Paola began her professional journey at ArchFlorence, where she contributed to remarkable projects such as Castiglion del Bosco, a luxury hotel in Tuscany including the restoration of 21 historic farmhouses, and the refurbishment of stately villas like Villa Accursio. These were experiences that forged a deep understanding of craftsmanship and high-end design. Born in Monaco and raised in Genoa, a city whose layered architecture and maritime heritage have deeply shaped her aesthetic, Paola later moved to Los Angeles to work with Randall Stout, a disciple of Frank Gehry. She subsequently joined OBR in Genoa under Paolo Brescia and Tommaso Principi, former collaborators of Renzo Piano, where she contributed to residential projects in Milan and Ghana, deepening her interest in sustainable architecture.
Recognised as a LEED Accredited Professional, Paola continued her path in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she established and led the sustainable building design practice for a global certification company, training a team of technical experts and expanding the firm’s expertise in green building design.
She then spent eight years in New York, serving as Project Manager for the complete renovation of a luxury residence in Tribeca and as Head of Interior Design for a 28-unit residential tower on the Lower East Side. During her final years in the city, she founded CdVstudio and began working independently, leading projects under her own name and laying the foundations for her international practice.
Fluent in Italian, French, Portuguese, and English, Paola brings a distinct international perspective to her work, enriched by her life and professional experiences across Europe, the United States, and South America. This multicultural fluency allows her to navigate diverse architectural contexts with ease, creating spaces that resonate across cultures and sensibilities.
